Saturday’s rugby derby between FNB Western Suburbs and FNB Wanderers promises to deliver great entertainment at the Wanderers Sports Field in Pionieerspark.
Rugby Derby Promises Great Treat
Suburbs’ James Camm said the derby, which gets special support from FNB, has been a regular attraction on the sport calendar for the past six years and will in all likelihood prove to be another hit with rugby enthusiasts on Saturday.
According to Camm, the sponsorship by FNB Namibia has been invaluable as it has afforded the club the opportunity to enhance its status.
“We also believe that FNB’s belief in us has given us the edge to be champions three times in the last six years,” said Camm.
Despite this being highly competitive match between old rivals, the two sets of supporters generally mingle well and are renowned to engage in a variety of social activities after the 80 minutes.
“FNB gives every rugby player the chance to show his talent and their support helps to develop the sport and bring communities together. The spirit of sportsmanship must prevail. The public is very important to us and we will entertain them this coming Saturday at the Derby,” according to Flip Louw from Wanderers.
“We promise a great fun filled day. From 12h00 the under 10s will play followed by the second teams and then at 15h15 the first league teams of FNB Western Suburbs and FNB Wanderers. What a great day to spend outdoors with family and friends while supporting sporting events in general and rugby in particular,” said Ingrid Goeieman, FNB’s manager of sponsorships and donations.Tagged under wanderers Western Suburbs
